Bio Gro deepens its relationship with MFMG
10th September 2026
Bio Gro has become MacKillop Farm Management Group’s newest Gold Sponsor, strengthening a long-standing relationship centred on sustainable agricultural inputs and better production outcomes for Australian growers.
Privately owned and locally operated, the business continues to be managed from its roots in Mount Gambier, South Australia. For more than 50 years, Bio Gro has developed and manufactured soil amendments and biological stimulants for Australian agriculture.
Bio Gro’s Agricultural Sales Manager, Liam Van Schaik, says the partnership reflects Bio Gro’s confidence in MFMG’s vision and its commitment to practical research that can deliver meaningful outcomes for farmers.
“We have a shared commitment to practical research, education and helping producers make better-informed decisions within their farming systems,” Liam said.
As part of its Gold Sponsorship, Bio Gro will have the opportunity to feature in an episode of The Prosperous Farmer podcast series.
“We look forward to discussing the history of our business and its origins, and how that has led product developments and trial data we are seeing in the field across a range of crop types,” Liam said.
Bio Gro sees the podcast as an opportunity to have a broader conversation with growers about the role of soil amendments and biological inputs within modern farming systems, including where they can deliver value, how they should be applied and when they make economic sense.
“We’re also excited to partner with MFMG on trials and research that continue to generate meaningful data and measurable outcomes, ultimately helping growers make better-informed decisions,” Liam added.
Founded by Hans & Marijan Van Schaik in 1975, Bio Gro now operates four primary facilities across South Australia and Victoria, employing around 250 staff. Together, the team produces more than 400,000 tonnes of product each year, servicing key agricultural industries such as pastures, horticulture and broadacre production.
Liam and his team work closely with farmers and agronomists to develop practical soil amendment solutions, including custom blends tailored to individual soil types, crop requirements and production objectives.
