MFMG 2027 Ag Study Tour - Riverine Plains

27th August 2026
MFMG is seeking Expressions of Interest to join the MFMG Ag Study Tour to the Riverine Plains VIC/NSW in August 2027.

The MacKillop Farm Management Group is calling for expressions of interest to join us for an Ag Study Tour to the Riverine Plains, VIC/NSW, proposed for August 2027.

The Riverine Plains is a highly productive, reliable agricultural region spanning north-east Victoria and southern New South Wales, widely known for its intensive grain, livestock, and mixed-farming systems. The Riverine Plains Ag Study Tour will visit trial sites, dryland and irrigated cropping operations, sheep studs, plant industries, research facilities, machinery manufacturers and more. It's also a great opportunity to network and collaborate with owners, local advisors and researchers about crop and livestock systems.

According to MFMG's CEO Sally Klose, Ag Study Tours offer the ideal opportunity to look over the fence at different operations that may have learnings for our own.

"Our study tours have become a tradition - building friendships, knowledge and learning from agricultural systems in a different regions,”Sally said.

“The benefits of taking the time out of your business are wide ranging. Previous participants have been reinvigorated and reenergised, learnt from others, established new networks and broadened their knowledge and experience,".

"Our last Study Tour was to Tasmania in 2022, and was an overwhelming success, so we're keen to bring it back for 2027," she said.

Feedback from the 2022 Highlights of Tasmania Tour included:

  • "Great trip, great speakers and extremely well organised, great fun too"
  • "Excellent tour, exceeded expectations thanks to all involved. Comfortable accommodation, great food, well facilitated".

Subject to receiving at least ten expressions of interest an itinerary will be prepared and registrations will be invited.
