Proposed

There will be one discussion group north of Naracoorte, and another south of Naracoorte, each comprising 12-15 growers.

The groups will gather three times per year for three growing seasons (early spring, mid-season and post-harvest).

Participants will undertake hands-on crop inspections, learn from each other and from experts, and explore and implement innovative agronomic practices that will lead to increased profitability on farm.

We’re particularly encouraging early career growers to be involved in the group (around age 35 or under) however if you’re an experienced grower and  keen to get involved, please express your interest.

Why get involved?

Discussion group members will:

  • be involved in a series of workshops that will improve understanding of how to calculate individual financial performance

  • have access to guest speakers

  • receive a pre-spring strategy document covering appropriate strategies for crop management in HRZ regions based on NVT and the previous Hyper Yielding Crop project trials

  • contribute to ideas for small plot validation and demonstration trials to be set up alongside the regional NVT site

  • receive a local debrief of paddock monitoring and regional results in Autumn

  • receive an exclusive invitation to a trial tour

  • be supported with the appropriate channels for agrichemical resistance testing, disease diagnosis, PA mapping
