About the project

The media and communications workshop series will help to build capacity in the agricultural industry to promote, support and encourage the uptake of best practice agriculture in a changing climate, by ensuring that service providers and farmers are well equipped to effectively communicate with the agricultural industry and the wider community in the Limestone Coast.

Effective communication is essential in the extension of information and is vital for increasing knowledge and awareness around a changing climate. Good communication can mean the difference between on-farm practice change or no information uptake.

This workshop series aims to upskill service providers and farmers in media and communications. Effective extension, communication, and the ability to utilise existing media (such as newspapers, radio and magazines) is vital in the communication of knowledge and information relating to the agriculture, fishery and forestry industries. Effective communication amongst the agricultural industry and wider community in the Limestone Coast is vital to achieving all assessment criteria.
