About the project

A capacity building project funded by the National Landcare Program that set out to upskill 30 farmers and advisors across the Limestone Coast on the key concepts of regenerative agriculture. It came about because of interest in the investment on the eastern seaboard and internationally to explore the principles and application of regenerative agriculture. We identified a gap in knowledge and practical application of these emerging practices in Southeast South Australia and set out to rectify that.

Project activities

Project activities were co-designed with the participants, aiming to generate a network of farmers who embrace regenerative methods. Participants learnt about the principles of regenerative agriculture, agroecology and holistic management and explored the world of soil biology and grazing practices that nurture our natural resources through a combination of workshops, farm walks and webinars.
It also supported five families to conduct and monitor their own on-farm trials to assist the adoption of new management practices, and their learnings were shared at the final project workshop.
