Project code:
Project manager: MFMG Team
Project duration: July 2022 to January 2023
About the project
The project aims to:
- Improve primary producer decision making around grazing decisions by providing them with up-to-date information about the tools available that they can access to help inform their decisions.
- Increasing primary producers abilities to make decisions is a key component in building resilience to drought. A more robust, repeatable decision-making process reduces the risk of risky decisions and increases the chances of a good outcome.
Project activities
The project will do this by:
- Investigating the tools available for use in pasture forecasting and pasture measurement tools in the high rainfall zone of South Australia (e.g. Farmer Forecaster, My Farm Dashboard, AskBill).
- Providing a resource for primary producers to choose the tool that fits best in their business for their needs (e.g. hosting this information on a central website with links to each product, or producing a fact sheet of all decision making tools available).
