Quantify and Promote the Benefits of Deep Ripping

Final report as included in 2010 MFMG Trial Results book

This project undertook assessment of trial and demonstration sites on the major soil types to quantify the impact of deep ripping on crop/pasture production.

The objectives of this project were to:

  • assess the impact of deep ripping on soil characteristics and crop/pasture production;
  • promote the adoption of deep ripping through the extension of data that demonstrates the potential for improved sustainability, increased productivity and profitability of growers
  • increase growers and advisers knowledge of soils and interpreting soil analyses to improve decision-making for the efficient use of soil conditioners and fertilisers.
