MacKillop Irrigation Management Committee

The MacKillop Irrigation Management Group has held its first official committee meeting, on 3rd February 2012.

David Chester from Irrigation Australia was in attendance to assist with the future direction of the group and planning of trials, research and other activities.

In the coming twelve months the committee will be conducting research into other irrigation areas with similar climatic conditions and looking at what they are producing and how that could fit in with what we can do in our region.  In the future we will also be researching alternative production and marketing possibilites.

Information sessions on "Knowing your soil and water quality and plants" (July) and "Knowing your irrigation system and improving the efficiency of your applications" (October), will be available to assist irrigators in the South East.  More information will be available shortly.

Following the "Making Every Megalitre count" bus trip in November 2011 the following irrigators and agri-business reps have formed the MIMG committee.  If you are interested in being involved please contact Krysteen McElroy (0408 655 108) as soon as possible.
